TARANGIRE NATIONALPARK

Der Tarangire Nationalpark leitet seinen Namen vom Tarangire Fluss ab, der im Hochland von Zentraltansania entspringt und sich durch den Park windet. Da der Park ganzjährig Wasser hat, sind viele Tiere hier sesshaft. Einige, wie Gnus und Zebras wandern zum Lake Natron und wieder zurück, je nach Futterangebot.

The name Tarangire derives from the river sourcing in Tanzania's central highlands. It winds through the park and has water throughout the year. Some animals like wildebeests and zebras migrate to Lake Natron and back depending on food availability.

	Während der Trockenzeit hat Tarangire NP den dichtesten Elefantebestand Nordtansanias. Foto aufgenommen Ende Februar. During dry season Tarangire NP has the densest elephant population of north Tanzania. The picture is taken end of February.
	Eine Büffelherde zieht am Abend in dem Flusstal unterhalb der Tarangire Safari Lodge.Die markanten Bäume sind Baobabs. A herd of buffaloes walks in the evening in a river valley below Tarangire Safari Lodge.The prominent trees are baobab trees.
	Zebras mit Baobabs. An gewissen Stellen stehen sie wie hingepflanzt. Einige dieser beeindruckenden Bäume sind Tausende Jahre alt. Zebras and baobab trees. At some places they stand as if they were planted. Some of them are thousands of years old.
	In der Baumsavanne finden Grantgazellen, die teilweise Gras-, teilweise Blätterfresser sind und die hauptsächlich Blätter fressenden Impalas Schatten und Futter. Grant gazelles and Impalas feed partly on grass partly on leaves. They find shade under trees in the tree savannah.
