Die Amboseli Serena Lodge liegt zwischen hohen Bäumen. Die Zimmer sind etwas klein, aber geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Essen und Service sind gut. Wie alle grossen Lodgen, kann es für Leute, die gerne Natur haben, etwas ‘überbevölkert’ sein. Als Ausgangspunkt für Pischfahrten ist sie sehr ideal gelegen.

Amboseli Serena Lodge lies in between tall trees with view on Mt. Kilimanjaro. The rooms are a bit small but tastefully furnished. Food and service are good. For people liking privacy it might be a bit too busy and crowded. As starting point for game drives it is good situated.  

Die Ol Tukai Lodge ist seit ein paar Jahren unter neuem Management und demzufolge renoviert und mit gutem Service. Dr. Cynthia Moss' Elefantenforschungszentrale liegt gleich nebenan. Sie hat durch Filme und Bücher vielen Elefanten und deren Verhalten nahe gebracht. Vom Garten und den Terrassen hat man gute Möglichkeiten Elefanten und andere vorbei ziehende Tiere zu beobachten. Sehr gepflegte Anlage.  

Ol Tukai Lodge has been under new management for a few years and undergone many improvements. Dr. Cynthia Moss’ elephant research center is neighbouring. From the garden and the terrace elephants and other passing game can be watched comfortably. Good service and a well taken care of property and compound.

Bestimmt die exklusivste Unterkunft in diesem Park ist das Tortilis Camp. Es liegt etwas abseits vom Hauptgeschehen und den anderen Lodgen, umgeben von Schirmakazien mit Blick auf den Kilimanjaro und die Ebene davor. Die Schirmakazien, Acacia tortilis, haben dem Camp den Namen gegeben. Wer gerne nur durch eine Zeltwand und Moskitonetz von der Natur getrennt ist und dennoch nicht auf Luxus verzichten möchte, ist hier goldrichtig. Die Zelte haben genügend Distanz voneinander und sind von Büschen und Bäumen umgeben. Essraum und Bar liegen oben auf dem Hügel, die Zelte gleich darunter. Essen und Service sind sehr gut.  

For sure the most exclusive place in Amboseli is Tortilis Camp. It is situated off the main road and the other lodges on a hill with Umbrella thorn acacias. The view on Mt. Kilimanjaro and the plains below are superb. It is the Umbrella thorn acacia, Acacia tortilis with scientific name, the camp is named after. For those who love only to be separated from nature by a mosquito net and a tent wall and still wish to have all the luxury, it is the right place. The tents have enough space in between them to give each and every one plenty of privacy. Each tent is surrounded by bushes and trees attracting birds and squirrels. The open bar and dining room are higher up the hill than the tents. Meals and service are excellent.  

Kibo Safari Camp ist ein komfortables, preisgünstigeres, fixes Zeltcamp nahe des Ranger Hauptquartieres. Service, Essen und Ausgangslage für Pirschfahrten sind gut.

Sentrim Amboseli Camp hat seine 60 Zelte erst in 2008 erstellt.

The 60 tents of Amboseli Sentrim Camp were built in 2008.

Camping: Leider steht im Amboseli NP noch keine private Campsite zur Verfügung. Eine öffentliche Campsite wird von Maasais verwaltet, die andere vom Kenya Wildlife Service. Beide stellen Toiletten und Dusche zur Verfügung und liegen für Pirschfahrten ideal.

Camping: Unfortunately Amboseli national park does not yet offfer a private campsite. There are two public campsites availabe of which one is run by Maasais and the other one by Kenya Wildlife Service. Both provide showers and toiletts and have a good location for game drives.
